$2.3 million settlement in Fresno may boost rights of homeless
People who live on the street with nowhere to stash their belongings have
won what is believed to be the largest settlement of its kind, a $2.3
million victory that may give the homeless stronger rights statewide,
their advocates say.
At least 225 homeless people in Fresno claimed in a 2006 federal
class-action lawsuit that the city and the California Department of
Transportation seized their belongings without warning.
Next month, a federal judge is expected to approve a settlement that would
award $2.3 million to people who lost medicine, food, birth certificates,
even a wheelchair, to trash bins in Fresno.

It is a hallmark of the Bush Administration specifically and of
Republicans in general to be so cruel toward their fellow citizens - yes,
the homeless are AMERICANS too! How pompous and arrogant are those who
somehow hold themselves a class above those less fortunate. SHAME ON YOU,
so called Christians!
You're an idiot since the California Legislature is and has been controlled
for decades by a majority of democrats.
I don't know if the City of Fresno is dominated by liberals, but many of the
larger cities within California are.  So your misplaced seething hatred for
Bush and Republicans, in general, is all so typical of inbred ignoramus
liberals such as yourself.........
Trust me, Meox Mix; Fresno is NOT a liberal city.  It's one of the
deepest red parts of California; polluted, crime ridden, corrupt.
Republican as all hell.
And yet judging from the 2004 election it's not nearly as deep red
as your own county, Non-Citizen "Zepp".

Ironic, huh?
